Archiving Object
An archiving object is a logical object that contains database tables that completely represent a business object from the perspective of data archiving or data destruction.
For more information, see the data archiving documentation under Archiving Object.
In Human Resources (HR), archiving objects are used for the data archiving and data destruction functions.
Human Resources provides archiving objects with different features:
Archiving objects that support the destruction of data (for example, HR: Absences
(HRTIM_ABS
))
Archiving objects that support archiving in addition to the destruction of data (for example, HR: Payroll Results
(PA_CALC
))
Archiving objects (in the personnel planning area) that support archiving (for example, HR Object
(BC_HROBJ
))
For an overview of the archiving objects available in Human Resources, see Archiving and Destruction of Data in Human Resources (HR).
An archiving object has the following programs for destroying data:
Preprocessing program (optional)
Write program (mandatory)
Delete program (mandatory)
For information about the data destruction steps in which the individual programs are run, see Data Destruction Process.
