Work Clearance Management (WCM) Integration
You use this process to enable the handling of work permits in the following applications:
Order (Business Package for Generic EAM Functions)
Order and Notification List (Business Package for Generic EAM Functions)
Job List (Business Package for Maintenance Worker)
By integrating WCM, you can also add WCM requirements and WCM object templates as safety measures in the safety plan of an order and/or task list. This allows you to work more efficiently with work permits to create a safe working environment. The integration of an external risk management system, such as SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management, supports this process further.
You have activated business function EAM, WCM Integration into Worker Safety
(/EAMPLM/LOG_EAM_WCM_WS
).
You have fulfilled all the prerequisites for work permit management. For more information, see Work Permit Management.
You have specified which types of WCM objects (work approvals, work clearance applications, and WCD templates) can be assigned as templates to which types of maintenance objects (orders and task lists). You do this in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service
under .
You have made the following settings for worker safety in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service
under .
You have specified the maintenance planning plants in which safety information is required for the execution of maintenance work.
You have specified the keyword ID that the system uses when generating an operation for a WCM template added as a safety measure.
If you are working with an external risk management system such as SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management, you have specified the connected risk management system and the logical systems involved.
In your EAM system, you create the necessary WCM object templates and requirements. For more information, see Work Clearance Management (PM-WCM).
If you are working with SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management, you assign your requirements as safety measures to risk responses. For more information, see SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management Integration.
Work permit management functions are available in the Order
, Order and Notification List

applications.
You can add WCM templates as safety measures in the safety plan of an order and task list in line with your Customizing settings. This makes it possible to have work permits and other WCM objects generated automatically for orders (see Automatic Generation of WCM Objects).
You can add requirements as safety measures in the safety plan of an order. The system automatically transfers requirements added in the safety plan to any work permits subsequently created for the order. If you are working with SAP BusinessObjects Risk Management, the system can automatically retrieve and apply requirements.
