Creating Structures

Use

To arrange content objects in a particular sequence you can create a structure. In this structure, you can then link to content objects or structures (Link / Include).

Prerequisites

You are in the Info Object List.

Procedure

To create a structure in the Info Object List, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Start of the navigation pathInfo Object Next navigation step Create Next navigation step Content Objects / StructuresEnd of the navigation path.

    If the Info Object List was generated from several folders, you must first select the required folder in the Folder Selection dialog box. If the list was generated from one folder only, this step is omitted.

  2. The Info Object Class dialog box appears:

  3. Choose the Info Object Class Structure.

  4. The Select Structure for Root Object dialog box appears. Following options are available:
    • Use specified template
    • Create new info object
    • Use existing info object

    This selection determines the following steps up to the creation of the structure. If a new info object is to be generated as a root object for the structure, generally the option Create New Info Object is used. The option Use specified template, is used rarely due its specification to exactly one content template.

Option Create New Info Object for the root object of the structure:

Option Use Existing Info Object for the root object of the structure:
  1. The Info Object Class dialog box appears.

  2. Choose the Info Object Class (content object or multimedia object) in which the new root object already exists.

  3. Copy takes you to the Find Info Objectdialog box.

  4. Enter your search criteria.

  5. Choose Execute to go to the dialog box Selecting an Info Object.

  6. Select the required info object, and choose Execute.

  7. The Create Structure dialog box appears.

Enter the appropriate values and choose Copy to complete creating the structure.

If an existing info object was selected as the root object of the structure, you return to the Info Object List. If a new content object is to be created, you can now edit the top node. Save your changes and choose Back to return to the Info Object List.

To create a structure in the initial screen of the SAP Knowledge Warehouse, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the required file in the Explorer and use drag and drop to drag it to the required folder in the favorites list or the entry structure.

  2. The assignment of the files to Info Object Classes is displayed.

  3. Select the required Info Object Class if the provided class is not suitable.

  4. Choose Start of the navigation pathEdit Next navigation step Select Structure ClassEnd of the navigation path, followed by the area related structure class in the Document Class dialog box.

    In the column With Structure the value changes from No to Yes.

    When you drag and drop a PowerPoint file, there is no selection of the structure class The structure class of this file format is already selected by default.

Result

The structure is created.
