Missing Quantities Calculation

Use

In the missing quantities calculation, the system analyzes the stock/requirements situation per supply segment and then uses this information to calculate the missing quantities.

A missing quantity is characterized by the following:

  • Quantity

  • Date

The missing quantities calculation is influenced by the following parameters:

  • Minimum stock : You can define a minimum stock level in the control cycle for a supply area. If the stock level then falls below this level, replenishment is triggered.

  • Planning horizon : The planning horizon determines the period in which missing quantities are to be calculated for demand-driven supply-to-production. For consumption-based planning, you choose a planning horizon of zero. You define the planning horizon in the control cycle as a relative time specification. The end of the planning horizon used for a program run is determined on the basis of the shift program or the factory calendar in the ERP System. For more information on shift programs, see also General Prerequisites . However, you can also override the planning horizon of the control cycle. You define this in the initial screen of the automatic supply-to-production or directly in the supply-to-production table per supply segment. If you define a planning horizon in the initial screen, this planning horizon is then valid for all demand-driven supply segments included in the selection. The planning horizon in the control cycle is then no longer valid. If you also set the indicator Use Planning Horizon for all Supply Segments , the new planning horizon is then valid for consumption-based supply segments and for supply segments based on control cycles with manually created summarized JIT calls. Consumption-based supply segments are then dealt with in the same way as demand-driven supply segments. If you want to override the planning horizon in the supply-to-production table, choose and enter a new planning horizon. This symbol also indicates the supply segments with new planning horizons. For more information, see also Selection Horizon .

The system displays the results of the missing quantities calculation in the status of each supply segment. You can display the status with or without taking the replenishment proposals into account. You can find an explanation of the meaning behind the individual sets of lights (for example, or ) in the F1 Help.
