Appearance Tab Page

Use

With the Appearance tab page of the Edit Measurement Style window, you can modify the appearance options for creating measurements.

Features

The Appearance tab page offers the following features:

Elements

Functional Description

Always on Top

Draws the dimension and dimension lines on top of all the objects in the scene

Display Dimension

Establishes the way in which the dimension displays:

  • Vectors: Draws the dimension as a vector.

  • Billboards: Draws the dimension as a billboard. That is, the dimension rotates to face the camera. When printed to a vector-based file, the measurement is converted to vector line art.

Vector Font Scale

Selects scaling for vector fonts. For example, if you enter 1.50, the font of the measurement scales by 1 and a half times.

Vector Arrow Scale

Selects scaling for vector arrows. For example, if you enter 3.00, the arrow size scales by three times.

Font

Selects a font for the billboard dimension.

Text Color

The color to use for coloring text.

Cross Color

The color to use for cross coloring.

Surface Color

The color to use for coloring the surface features. The selected faces take the color specified.

Extension/Dimension Color

The color to use for coloring extension lines

Construction Color

The color to use for coloring the construction lines

Standard Conformance

Determines the appearance of the arrows and leader lines.
  • Legacy: The leader lines end at the arrow heads. The diameter is displayed on top of the leader line, and a radius dimension is displayed with three arrowheads.

  • ASME: The leader lines extend past the arrow heads. The diameter is displayed at the end of the leader line, and a radius dimension is displayed with a single arrowhead.
