Scheduling Data Aging Runs

To execute data aging, schedule a data aging run for your tables.

The following conditions are definitive for the data aging runtime:

  • You have created partitions.
  • There can be no gaps between two partitions. There is a check to see whether there are gaps in the data aging partitions.
  • You have created a partition that covers today's date.
  • You have deleted the Others Partition before you start the data aging run (only when using a SAP HANA database).

Procedure

  1. In transaction DAGRUN, select the Schedule New Job icon, or choose Start of the navigation pathGoto Next navigation step Schedule JobEnd of the navigation path in the menu.
  2. Enter the data aging group for which you want to start a run.
  3. Enter the maximum runtime in minutes. You use this field to indicate the time in minutes after which the data aging run has to be stopped.
  4. You also have the option of adding job parameters or spool parameters.
  5. Choose the Execute icon to schedule the job.

Result

You can find the scheduled run in the Overview of Data Aging Runs, listed with all of the details. Based on the status, you can see how far the run has progressed.

Stop Run

You can stop the data aging run by using the Stop Run icon. The data aging run is stopped after the aging of a package is complete.
