Run a Job with Traceability Log

This section explains how to run a job with the traceability log activated.

Procedure

  1. From the Run Data Mapping page, select or open the job you want to run with the traceability log activated.
  2. Choose Run.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Choose Start of the navigation pathRun Next navigation step With Traceability LogEnd of the navigation path.

    • Choose Start of the navigation pathRun Next navigation step With Traceability Log Saved to [your remote folder location]End of the navigation path if you have defined a remote folder location to store and read your traceability log file from. For more information, see Configure Destination for Remotely Stored CSV Files and Create a Mapping Job.

  4. Optionally, select a CSV file from a network folder or a source instance.
  5. Choose Start of the navigation pathRunEnd of the navigation path.
  6. Once run, open the job.
  7. Open the last run.
  8. In the Import Log tab, choose the Settings button and display the output columns you want to display in the import log. Also, only the columns you display in the import log are included as output columns in the traceability log.
  9. Do one of the following:
      • Choose Download Traceability Log and For All Items. Then select whether you want to include All Columns or Visible Columns Only (meaning only the columns that are currently displayed in your import log).

      • In the Mapping Log and Import Log tabs, select the rows you want to trace and analyze, and from the header of the Run page, choose Download Traceability Log and Selected Items. Then select whether you want to include All Columns or Visible Columns Only.

      • Choose Download Traceability Log and Rejected Items Only. Then select whether you want to include All Columns or Visible Columns Only.

    An Excel file is generated and downloaded.

  10. Open the Excel file.

    You can download the traceability log file from:

    • The list of data mapping jobs.

    • The list of data mapping job runs.

    • The job run header.

    • A remote folder location (if you have defined a remote folder location to store and read your traceability log file from).

    When downloading a traceability log file from the job run header, the output columns it contains are those displayed in the import log of the connected user.

    When downloading a traceability log file from the list of data mapping jobs, the list of data mapping job runs, or from a remote location, it contains all available output columns.

    In the list of data mapping job runs, the column Data Generation Context displays the following information, which constitutes the context: version, fiscal year, fiscal period, consolidation unit, consolidation chart of accounts, test run. You can generate and save a traceability log for each unique context.
