Additional Details
Native support for the LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) client functionality is now provided in ICM (Internet Communication Manager).
This new functionality provides advantages over the existing LDAP connector, which is still available for compatibility reasons. Mainly, secure LDAP communication over SSL and StartTLS are now supported uniformly on all operating system platforms.
The new functionality is made available by the existing LDAP ABAP APIs. For more details, see documentation.
To use this functionality, no configuration is required. However, you can change the settings in the LDAP profile parameters.
