Creation of Insert Notes and Carrying Ads

Use

These functions are used to create insert notes and carrying ads for ad insert items.

Integration

They are part of order entry and are available to you as follows during creation and modification of ad insert items on the Details tab page at item level:

 With the Insert note quick info text that is adjacent to the insert note indicator.

Create carrying ads

 With the Carrying ad quick info text that is adjacent to the carrier ad indicator.

Insert notes and carrying ads are the final information entered during ad insert creation.

Prerequisites

To create insert notes or carrying ads.

A note is to be placed for an ad pre-print that is inserted in a magazine or an order is to be entered for a display ad to which a trial sample is attached.

You have assigned ad booking units for insert notes or carrying ads to the basic booking units in the product master data ( AI elements tab page, Ad BU field) and made the following settings in Customizing:

You have defined combination sale types and copying variants for insert notes or carrying ads in each sales area.

Features

During creation of carrying ads and insert notes, the system generates an ad item for the carrying ad or insert note according to the copying variant specified.

The system first uses the schedule lines to determine the basic booking units in the ad insert item and then determines the booking unit in which the insert note or the carrying ad is to be published. The insert note or carrying ad is to be published in the booking unit that was assigned to the ad insert basic booking units determined as the ad booking unit in the product master data.

The system combines the ad insert item and the ad item generated to create a combination sale of the Insert note or Carrying ad combination sale type.

The combination sale type is updated in the existing billing datasets and can be used to determine a special ad price for insert notes and carrying ads.

If insert notes are to be sold at lower prices than those for standard ads, you can include the combination sale type field (WERBK_TYP) in your condition table and in an access that is suitable for the respective access sequence.
