The system creates a data record to manage responses when you enter a box number ad.

  • The button on the Details tab page with the Response management quick info is used to display this data record.

  • To enter responses that have been received for a box number ad, choose the following under Sales: Start of the navigation path Environment Next navigation step Responses Next navigation step Change. End of the navigation path

If you enter the box number before you have entered the ad text, the system transfers the box number indicator, box number and box number address to the technical system.

If you enter the box number once you have entered the ad text, the technical system must determine the box number by callback. You must activate the relevant function in the technical system.

Additional information about technical system integration is available in the Technical Interface IS-M/ITA, Integration of Technical Systems document.

You can use the box number to determine ad items in central access.

Features

The box number indicator, location and number are specified during entry of a box number:

Data

Use

Box number indicator

Indicator that defines whether responses are to be sent or collected and whether address labels or box number security slips are to be printed.

  • If you stipulate that responses are to be sent, you can print any number of labels in response management.

  • If you stipulate that responses are to be collected, you cannot print any labels in response management.

If you change this indicator, you can decide whether changes are to affect response management.

You cannot change the box number indicator if responses have been entered for a box number.

Box number location

Indicator that defines the location from which responses are to be collected.

The location from where responses are to be collected is the sales office for a particular sales area.

Specify the sales organization, distribution channel, and division and any sales office required during order entry. Since the sales office in which an order is placed does not have to be identical with the sales office where responses are collected, you can change the sales office when you enter a box number ad.

Box number

Key that identifies a box number. You can assign the key when you enter a box number ad (external number assignment). Alternately, the system assigns this (internal number assignment) when the data is saved.

You have defined the keys available to you for number assignment in Customizing. If you assign the key yourself, the system checks whether this key exists within the number range proposed and whether it has already been assigned.

If you cannot enter a key, you should check whether box numbers are assigned internally or externally in the sales office you specified.
