Create new ad specs by copying existing ad specs. An ad spec that has already been assigned to a different ad order for the same sold-to party is to be copied.
You have created the ad spec in the current sales document or a different sales document.
You have defined the ad spec data to be displayed in the possible entries during creation and assignment of ad specs with a template in Customizing:

Basic principles for creating ad specs with a template
An ad spec that has been created for a specific sales document can be copied into other sales documents. To copy an ad spec, specify the number of the ad spec that you want to use as a copying template.
The system offers you ad spec numbers as follows for selection:
Prerequisite |
Copying function |
Copying template |
Copy ad, online or commercial ad specs that have been created in the current sales document. |
Possible entries |
The system offers you all ad specs that have been created in the current sales document of the specified item type for selection. |
Copy ad or online ad specs that have been created in different sales documents. You cannot copy commercial ad specs that have been created in different sales documents. |
Search |
The system offers you all ad specs of this item type that have been saved in the database. The following selection criteria are available to you for determining the ad spec according to the item type:
The system displays all ad specs that match the given selection criteria on the display screen. The sales document number, ad spec number, note, keyword and text header are displayed for each ad spec. |
The ad spec created has a new ad spec number and is assigned to the item, sub-item or schedule line specified.
Caution
If you copy an ad spec at ad spec level and the overview tree has not been activated, the ad spec is created but not assigned.
If you create an ad spec with a template, the ad spec assignment is inherited at the lower document levels.

The header ad spec, sub ad specs and linked sub ad specs are also copied when you copy an ad or online ad spec to which sub ad specs have been assigned. The header ad spec and sub ad specs have new ad spec numbers.
Copy ad spec masters
When copying ad specs, you specify whether the ad spec master that belongs to the template ad spec is also to be copied. The following copying options are available to you:
Selection button |
Use |
Ad spec master |
|
Ad spec master with template |
The ad spec master is created with a template. This means that entries are made in the template fields, the status characteristics and routing bag numbers are initialized and all other data is copied. A document flow is created for the ad spec master. |
Ad spec master without template |
The ad spec master is created without a template. This means that the template fields, status characteristics and routing bag numbers are initialized and all other data is copied. No document flow is created for the ad spec master. There is no reference between the copying template and the ad spec master copied. |
No ad spec master |
No ad spec master is created. |
Document flow for an ad spec shows which ad spec and ad spec master have been used as a copying template. The ad spec master used as a template is displayed as follows:
If you copy an ad spec with ad spec master, the
Ad spec master template
field shows the number of the ad spec master that has been used as a copying template.
If you copy an ad spec with an ad spec master and no ad spec master has been assigned to the ad spec, the
Ad spec master template
field is initial (value 0).
If you create an ad spec and do not assign an ad spec master, no template fields are displayed for the ad spec master in document flow.
To display document flow for an ad spec, choose
at ad spec level
.
User parameter JHA_DRVL_COPY defines the way in which ad spec masters are copied.
