Changing Billing Arrangements RetroactivelyYou want to repeat billing retroactively for an order item.
Example
A subscriber paid for her annual subscription on January 1
st
but no longer requires the subscription as of April 1
st
because she is taking up employment abroad. In this case, you need to convert the annual billing document already paid into twelve monthly billing documents (billing frequency of item:
monthly
) and offset the monthly amounts for the service no longer required against the annual amount paid.
Billing document cancellation
In the case of subscription orders, you can only change the billing arrangements for an item retroactively if the existing billing document has been canceled. To allow you to do this, the system lists the last three billing documents when you change an order; you can then cancel the desired billing document directly.
Select the item in the item overview or call up the item data on the item to be changed.
See Changing Subscription Orders and Changing Third-Party Delivery Orders .
Choose
The system displays a dialog box querying the valid-from date.
Enter the valid-from date for the retroactive change to the billing arrangements.
The maintenance screen for the change item appears.
Make the required changes to the billing data.
Save the changed order.
You can repeat billing retroactively for the changed item in the subscription order using the changed billing arrangements. By splitting the period for which billing was already performed into smaller periods, you can offset the services actually used by the customer against the amount paid in advance. In the case of third-party delivery orders, billing is performed by the other publisher.
