Searching for Specifications You use this procedure to search for specifications by entering the search criteria before you perform the search.
The search functions are active in your system that you need for searching for specifications of your chosen specification category .
If you want to execute a where-used list in the search, an appropriate function must be active for the specification category.

Call the recipe workbench and if required, specify the key date or change number for which you want to display the specifications.
In the recipe workbench, choose the specification category of the specifications you want to find by double-clicking it in the overview tree, for example,
Recipe
, if you want to search for recipes.
The initial screen appears for that specification category.
Enter the search criteria. Note the following:
The selection criteria you used in your last search are displayed as default. Choose
New Search
to delete these values if necesary. This function also deletes all entries in the dialog boxes for the extended search functions (see step 3).

You can save search criteria that you frequently use for a simple search using the
function with the quick info text
Save Search Criteria
and load the search criteria again using the
function with the quick info text
Load Search Criteria
. You can also save one search per specification category as a user-specific search. The system does not save your entries for the key date and change number.
The search uses the initial screen of
Specification Management
in the SAP
Environment, Health and Safety
(
EH&S
) component. All entries refer to the specification category of the specifications you want to find. For more information on finding specifications see the documentation for
EH&S
under
Specification Search
.
By entering a change number, key date, or search period, you specify when the search criteria must be met. If you enter a search period, the search criteria must be met on any day within this period. However, the specifications are always displayed on the key date or for the change number.
Enter search criteria for the extended search functions if required. Choose
with the quick info
Enter Parameters
next to the extended search function text. Note that the criteria you enter on the initial screen and for the extended search functions are linked by AND, which means that the system only selects those specifications that meet all the criteria.

Hit List.
The specifications found by the system are displayed in the hit list.
Continue editing if required, as follows:
If you want to delete individual specifications from the hit list, select them and then choose .
If you want to execute another search step to include additional specifications in the hit list or to delete specifications from the hit list, choose one of the following functions and then repeat steps 2 to 4 for the new search step. If necessary, you can also perform a query or load a set of hits .

Extend Selection
The hit lists of the two search steps are combined.
With the quick info
Refine Selection
The system displays the intersection of the hit lists of the two search steps.
With the quick info
Reduce Selection
The formulas from the second hit list are deleted from the hit list of the first search step.
Note
You use the
function with the quick info
Reset Selection
to reset the last search step or the last manual reduction that was carried out.
