CMC User Statuses

Use

User status management for orders and operations affects the CMC display and the calculations of range of coverage (ROC) and priorities.

The CMC user status functions allow you to 'logically' group several user statuses such as all delay possibilities and, therefore, display them as groups in the CMC (folders in the CMC order hierarchy ). Some groups, such as those containing user statuses for delays or for work in progress (WIP) influence the internal CMC calculations. You specify a default CMC user status in Customizing for the CMC under CMC Profiles .

The CMC user status function has two main features:

  • display possibility that determines the CMC user status folders and their sequence in the CMC order hierarchy

  • classification possibility that determines which orders are used for certain functions related to the different possible attributes

Example Example

You select the work in progress (WIP) and external rework indicators for one CMC user status group to determine which orders the CMC considers as valid receipts to calculate the overall available quantity of serviceable stock for both range of coverage (ROC) and serviceable stock-based priority calculation. This is only valid if you have selected the Include WIP indicator in the CMC profile .

If you do not select a CMC user status group as WIP or external rework the CMC considers all released orders as WIP.

To activate the functions behind the PTP button in the CMC you must maintain user groups with the PTP indicator and the WIP indicator. The PTP indicator activates the PTP button in the CMC, and the WIP indicator ensures that a WIP folder exists in the CMC.

End of the example.

You also define the CMC user status profile to which you have to assign a standard user status profile. The standard user status profile controls the individual valid user statuses, while the CMC user status profile controls the grouping and sorting of these standard user statuses.

Note Note

You must assign one standard user status profile to each CMC user status profile that you define. You can only include user statuses in the CMC user status profile that belong to the standard user status profile assigned to it. You cannot mix user statuses from different standard user status profiles in one CMC user status profile.

On the CMC selection screen you can also select a standard user status profile that has not been assigned to a CMC user status profile. This enables users to display orders in the CMC that have a user status that is not included in any of the CMC user status groups. However, if the user selects such a profile the system overrules the CMC-specific settings for the CMC user status groups, meaning that the CMC user status folders are no longer sorted as per the settings in Customizing for CMC User Statuses. Instead, in the CMC order hierarchy the system sorts the user statuses from the standard user status profile according to the user status number.

End of the note.

Activities

  1. In the IMG, choose Plant Maintenance and Customer Service → Plant Maintenance and Service Processing → Rotables Management → Component Maintenance Cockpit → Determine CMC User Status.

  1. Execute the activities in the following sequence:

  • Maintain User Status Group

To determine all possible CMC user status folders that can be displayed in the order hierarchy (such as Delayed or work in process - WIP); and the sequence in which they are displayed. Some groups, such as those containing user statuses for delays or for work in progress (WIP) influence the internal CMC calculations. For example the work in progress (WIP) and external rework indicators determine which orders the CMC considers as valid receipts when calculating the overall available quantity of serviceable stock for both range of coverage (ROC) and serviceable stock-based priority calculation. However, this is only valid if you have selected the Include WIP indicator in the CMC profile.

  • Maintain User Status Profile

To determine the CMC user status profile to which you assign the standard user statuses. You must define a CMC user status profile and assign a standard user status profile to it. It is important to distinguish between the standard user status profile, which controls the valid user statuses, and the CMC status profile, which controls the grouping and sorting of individual user statuses.

  • Maintain User Status Hierarchy

To determine the CMC user status groups to be displayed in the CMC order hierarchy and the individual standard user statuses to be included in each group. For example, you may only want to see WIP in one profile and so on.

  1. Save your entries.
