Phase/Decision Point Dashboard 

Use

Here you get an overview of all existing decision points and the associated phases for those decision points (if there are any phases) as well as relevant key data for a particular item, initiative, item template, or initiative template.

To navigate to the Phase/Decision Point Dashboard for items or initiatives, choose Portfolio Management ®Portfolio Management ® Initiative Dashboard or Item Dashboard, and click an initiative or item name.

To navigate to the Phase/Decision Point Dashboard for item templates or initiative templates, choose Portfolio Management ® Administration ® Initiative Template Dashboard or Item Template Dashboard, and click an initiative template or item template name.

The Quick Information displays information related to the selected item, initiative, item template, or initiative template under which the Phase/Decision Point Dashboard is displayed.

Prerequisites

●      You have configured the standard SAP xRPM navigation in Customizing for SAP xApp Resource and Portfolio Management (SAP xRPM) under Global Customizing ® Process and Service Settings ® Define Navigation.

●      If you are using items based on item types, you have mapped decision points to cProjects phases in Customizing for SAP xRPM, by choosing Global Customizing ® Portfolio Independent Settings ® Map Item Type to cProjects Project Type or Project Templates ® Decision Points to cProjects Phases.

●      If you are using items based on item templates, you have mapped item template decision points to cProjects phases in Customizing for SAP xRPM, by choosing Global Customizing ® Portfolio Independent Settings ® Map Item Template to cProjects Template ® Item Template Decision Point to cProjects Phase.

Features

On this screen, you can do the following:

The Schedule Chart shows the graphical timeline display of all the decision points.

The names of all the decision points, appears as a link in the column Decision Point Name. When you click a decision point, the system displays the corresponding decision point overview.

For an initiative and initiative template, the phase-related columns are always visible with data filled.

For an item and item template, the phase-related columns are only visible if they have an underlying cProjects project associated to the item/item template. Even, if they are visible, these columns are empty for all the decision points which are not linked to any phase.

The names of all the phases appear as a link in the column Phase Name. When you click a phase, the system displays the corresponding phase overview.

Moreover, you can find the following information in the Phase/Decision Point Dashboard:

 

Field	Status	Explanation
Phase Name	Mandatory	Alphanumeric field.
Phase Type Text	Optional	Indicates the type of phase.
System Status	Optional	Indicates the current status of the phase. As the project progresses, you can update this field by selecting the appropriate status from the dropdown list in the phase overview.
Decision Point Name	Mandatory	Alphanumeric field.
Status	Optional	Indicates the current status of the phase. As the project progresses, you can update this field by selecting appropriate status from the dropdown list in decision point overview.
Delay Indicator	Optional	Indicates the delay of the decision point.
Planned Start Date	Optional	The planned start date of the decision point. Enter the planned start date of this decision point manually, or use the date picker to select the date in decision point overview.
Planned Finish Date	Optional	Planned finish date of the decision point. Enter the planned completion date of this decision point manually, or use the date picker to select the date in decision point overview.
Planned Duration	Optional	Planned duration of the decision point based on its planned start and planned finish date.

In addition, you can add other fields to the Phase/Decision Point Dashboard from the Personalize option.

 

The other general features available from the dashboard are:

Action	Steps
Search for a decision point or phase	Here you can sort and filter from the displayed decision points/ phases to search for a specific object.
	Sort	You can sort the decision point/ phase list by columns. Click the heading of the column to sort in ascending order. Click again to sort in descending order.
	Filter	The first row is for filtering the decision point/phase list. You can enter a string of characters to filter the decision points/phases containing the string. You can enter search strings in multiple columns to narrow the search results. Special characters are not permitted.
Navigation	Scroll	The triangles at the bottom of the displayed list facilitate scrolling. The three triangles pointing down help to scroll down one row at a time, one page at a time and to the last page, respectively. The three triangles pointing up perform the same function for scrolling upwards.
Export to Excel	Export to Microsoft Excel (right top corner above the list)	Here you can export the list of select collections to Microsoft Excel. Select the decision points/ phases from the list Choose Export to Microsoft Excel to access the Export view. Choose TableData.xls.

View Schedule Chart

Here you can view the graphical timeline display of all the decision points.

●      Choose the View Schedule Chartto display the graphical representation.

●      The decision points are represented on the vertical axis, whereas the horizontal axis represents the timeline.

●      A legend is provided for the forecasted, planned, and actual times.

●      The magnifying glass in the top left corner can be used to zoom in and out.

●      Choose Back to return to the Phase/Decision Point Dashboard.
