SAP Fiori launchpad includes features that help individuals with disabilities or impairments.

Keyboard Navigation Support

Keyboard navigation enables users to access user interface elements in the launchpad by using the keyboard instead of the mouse. To navigate the launchpad, you use a combination of the F6, Tab, and Shift keys as follows:

Note Pressing F6 + Shift reverses this flow.

Tab Action Flow

Note Pressing Tab + Shift reverses this flow.

Navigating in the home page

The home page is the area displaying groups of tiles. When you first open your launchpad, the first tile on your home page is in focus. You can then start navigating between the tiles and groups using your keyboard as follows:

How to do it

Navigate between tiles

  • Use the arrow keys to navigate between the tiles in the same group.

  • Press Home to navigate to the first tile in the first group.

  • Press End to navigate to the last tile in the last group.

  • Press PgDn (page down) to navigate from any tile in a group to the first tile in the next group.

  • Press PgUp (page up) to navigate from any tile in a group to the first tile in the previous group.

Launch tiles

Press Enter or the space bar on the tile that you want to launch.

Navigating in the anchor bar

This screen capture shows the anchor bar in the launchpad. It displays quick links to all the groups on the home page.

Navigate in the anchor bar as follows:

How to do it

Navigate between groups

Use the left and right arrow keys.

Select a group

Press Enter or the space bar to select the group in the anchor bar.

Navigate from the anchor bar to the tiles area

Press Tab or F6.
Note

If this is the first time you are navigating to a selected group from the anchor bar, you are directed to the first tile in the group.

If you have navigated previously to tiles in the selected group, you are directed to the tile that you last visited.

Navigating in the user menu

This screen capture is an example of a user menu in the launchpad (depending on how it was configured by your administrator). To navigate through the menu options, use the up and down arrows.

Working in personalization mode

You can edit the home page of your launchpad using the Personalize home page floating action button.

How to do it

Enable personalization or edit mode

  1. Press F6 on any tile to navigate to the Personalize Home Page floating action button.

  2. Press Enter or the space bar to activate personalization mode.

  3. To exit personalization mode, press F6 again.

Navigate between personalization options

Use the arrow keys to navigate between the following personalization options:
  • Add a new group

  • Add a new tile

  • Move tiles

  • Delete tiles

  • Delete groups

  • Rename groups

  • Reset groups

Add a new group

  1. Use the arrow keys until you get to the Add Group button.

  2. Press Enter or the space bar to add the new group.

Add a new tile

  1. Use the arrow keys until you get to the + tile.

  2. Press Enter.

Move tiles to another group

  1. Select the tile and press the space bar to enable the Move button.

  2. Press the space bar to select the Move button.

  3. Select the group to which you want to add the tile using the arrow keys.

Move tiles within a group

Select the tile and use CTRL + the side arrow keys to move it within the group.
Note

If there is no space to move the tile, it moves to the next group.

Delete tiles in a group

Once the tile you want to delete is in focus, press Delete on the tile.

Delete a group

  1. Navigate to the header of the group.

  2. Press Tab to get to the Delete button.

  3. Press the space bar to delete.

Rename a group

  1. Select the title of the group.

  2. Press F2 to change the name.

Reset a group

  1. Select the title of the group

  2. Press Tab to get to the Reset button.

  3. Press the space bar to reset the group.

Screen Reader Support

The screen reader reads out the contents of the user interface. Labels, headings, and descriptions help describe the contents and visual elements of an application.

For example, in the launchpad the screen reader announces:
  • Menu options and how many there are

  • Which tiles and which groups are in focus

High Contrast Themes

Themes are an important aspect for an SAPUI5 application. A high contrast theme is recommended for those users who have an eyesight disability.

The High-Contrast Black (HCB) theme for SAPUI5 controls is a predefined theme that is distinguishable for this purpose.
