Extract Transactions and Web Dynpro ABAP Applications from a Remote SystemLocate this document in the navigation structure

To integrate Web Dynpro ABAP applications and SAP GUI transactions located on a SAP Fiori back-end server into SAP Fiori launchpad, you need to extract catalogs from the back-end and replicate them on the front-end server.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. In the productive frontend server system, launch transaction /UI2/APPDESC_GET.

Alternatively, you can launch the customizing activity Extract Transactions and Web Dynpro Applications.

  2. (Optional) In the Catalog ID field, enter the ID of one or more catalogs which were defined in the launchpad designer and refer to catalogs defined in a remote system.

If you make an entry for this field, the system only extracts the back-end catalogs, which are referenced by the selected front-end catalogs.

If you do make an entry for this field, all catalogs on the front-end server will be searched for references to catalogs located in the back-end.
  3. Mark the Test mode checkbox and choose Execute.
  4. Depending on the log displayed, proceed as follows:
    • No error occurred:

Go back to the selection screen, unmark the Test mode checkbox and choose Execute.

    • An error occurred:

Proceed according to the log being displayed. In particular, check the long texts of the error messages.

Results

The back-end catalogs are replicated in the front-end server. The catalogs can now be displayed in the launchpad designer. You cannot edit these catalogs in the launchpad designer since the original data is located in the back-end.

If a back-end catalog did not change since the last replication, it will not be replicated.
