Creating System Aliases for Application SystemsLocate this document in the navigation structure

In this step, you create a system alias for your application system.

Procedure

  1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver choose Start of the navigation path Gateway Next navigation step OData Channel Next navigation step Configuration Next navigation step Connection Settings Next navigation step SAP NetWeaver Gateway to SAP System  Next navigation step Manage SAP System Aliases End of the navigation path.

    The Change View "Manage SAP System Aliases": Overview screen appears.

  2. Choose New Entries.

    The New Entries: Overview of Added Entries screen appears.

  3. If SAP Gateway is not co-deployed with your back-end system, create a new entry with the following parameters:

    SAP System Alias

    • Enter the system alias, adhering to the following naming convention:

      <back-end system ID>CLNT<back-end system client>_T

      Example Y4HCLNT100_T
    • If SAP Gateway is co-deployed with your back-end system, you can also enter Local.

    Description

    Enter a descriptive text for the system alias.

    Local GW

    If SAP Gateway is co-deployed with your back-end system, activate the Local GW option.

    RFC Destination

    Enter the destination as defined in Creating Trusted RFC Connection to Application Back-End System.

    If SAP Gateway is co-deployed with your back end system, enter None.

    Software Version

    Enter DEFAULT.

  4. Save your entries.

Results

You have connected the SAP Gateway system with the application system.
