Creating Trusted RFC Connection to Application Back-End System Locate this document in the navigation structure

To enable execution of OData services referenced in notifications, you have to create a trusted RFC destination from SAP Gateway to the SAP application back-end system.

Procedure

  1. In Customizing for SAP NetWeaver, choose Start of the navigation path Gateway Next navigation step OData Channel  Next navigation step Configuration Next navigation step Connection Settings Next navigation step SAP NetWeaver Gateway to SAP System Next navigation step Manage RFC Destinations End of the navigation path (or run transaction SM59).
  2. In the RFC Connection navigation panel, choose Start of the navigation path ABAP Connections Next navigation step Create End of the navigation path.
  3. Complete the fields as follows:

    RFC Destination

    Enter the name of the destination. Adhere to the following naming convention:

    <back-end system ID>CLNT<back-end system client>_T

    Example Y4HCLNT100_T

    Connection Type

    Choose 3 – ABAP Connection.

    Description

    Enter Trusted RFC Destination to <back end><client>.

  4. Choose Enter.
  5. On the Technical Settings tab, complete the fields as follows:

    Load Balancing

    If your system supports load balancing, select Yes.

    Target Host

    Enter the host of your back-end system.

    To find out the host name, go to SAP Logon, right-click the SAP Gateway system, and then choose Properties. The host is displayed in the Message Server field.

    Instance No.

    1. Enter the system number of your back-end system.

      To find out the instance number, go to SAP Logon, right-click the Gateway system, and then choose Properties. The instance number is displayed in the Instance Number field.

      Note

      Depending on the release version of your system, this field may be called System Number.

    2. Save your entries.

    Save to Database as

    Verify that the IP Address option is selected and the IP address of the back-end system is displayed.

  6. Choose Enter.
  7. On the Logon & Security tab, complete the fields as follows:

    Enter the target client in your application system.

    Trust relationship

    Select Yes.

  8. On the Special Options tab, for the Transfer Protocol field, select Classic with tRFC.
  9. Save your entries.

Results

You have created a trusted RFC connection from your SAP Gateway system to the SAP application back-end system.
