Auto-Layout Mode 
You use Auto-Layout mode to build a diagram showing any combination of mission and vision statements, perspectives and objectives. By picking a pre-existing template, Auto-Layout mode is the quickest way design a diagram and make a diagram available to your organization.
The first time you open Diagram Manager for the selected context, it opens in Auto-Layout mode with all the context's perspectives and objectives displayed in the T Template format. If you have a mission and vision statements for the context, they are also displayed.
To perform tasks such as resizing or moving diagram objects, or changing the color and shape of mission and vision statements, text objects, or individual perspectives and objectives, use Design Manually mode.
Use this mode to do all of the following:
Select the items from the strategy that you want in your diagram. If you have already created Text Items, they are listed here as well.
Specify diagram properties such as template type, default color and shape settings for perspective and objective diagram objects, and whether to display status indicators in the published diagram.
Add Text Items with URL links. Any new Text Items are included by default in the diagram. In Auto-Layout mode, text items are placed at the bottom of the diagram in the order they are added and cannot be moved.

To make further adjustments, switch to Design Manually mode.
Caution
Do not switch back to Auto-Layout mode after making layout changes in Design Manually mode, or you will lose the following: all resizing of objects, all moving of objects, all added or deleted arrows.
