Documenting Users

The user documentation enables you to track in the system what a user was created for and who is responsible for that user.

Context

Table 1: Fields for Documenting Users
Field	Purpose
Description	The short description is a free text field. You might record here the service for which a technical user was created or the organization the user belongs to or some other criteria of your own invention.
Person Responsible	Select the user administrator responsible for this user.

This data can be distributed in the central user administration landscape.

You can access this data programmatically in the BAPI function modules or the methods of IF_IDENTITY~GET_TECHNICAL_USER_DATA and IF_IDENTITY~SET_TECHNICAL_USER_DATA of the class CL_IDENTITY.

Procedure

Open a user for editing in User Maintenance (transaction SU01).
On the Documentation tab, enter the required data.
Save your entries.
