Accessing Related Objects from a WorklistLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

Related objects are objects with a technical reference to another object, such as all of the Screen Painter, interface, and report texts for the program SAPLABC, or the long texts that explain the function of data element XYZ. You can select an object in your worklist and then access its related objects, providing that any exist. This function is useful in the following situations:
  • The translation of related objects has top priority, such as when the translations are needed for demonstration purposes.

  • You want to check and, if necessary, improve the consistency of translations that are displayed together on the same screen.

Procedure

  1. See Calling Up a Worklist linked below and maintain the worklist parameters as described in the procedure.
  2. Choose Reserve Objects.
  3. In the Standard Worklist: Objects for <User Name> from <Source Language> to <Target Language> screen, right-click the object for which you want to access related objects, and choose Related Objects.

If no related objects exist for the selected object, you are informed by a message.

If one related object exists for the selected object, it opens immediately in the appropriate translation editor in a separate session.

If two or more related objects exist for the selected object, they are listed in a mini worklist in a separate session.

  4. After you have finished reading or translating the related objects, choose Back to return to the worklist.
