Working with the Statistics History as a Translator

Use

You can use the statistics history function to:

Display multiple statistics versions to see the development of the workload over a longer period of time
Compare several versions of the statistics with a reference version of the statistics, so that you can see the difference in the number of lines between the various sets of statistics
Update the statistics for some or all target languages
Delete an old statistics version

Prerequisites

An evaluation must have run at least once for statistics to be created.
To update the statistics, your translator profile must contain authorization object STGS with value 01, 02, or 03.
To delete statistics, your translator profile must contain authorization object STGS with value 03.

Displaying the Statistics History

Proceed as described in steps 1 to 4 of Displaying Statistics as a Translator.
On the History tab page you can select one or more statistics versions, or select a reference statistics version as follows:
- Selecting one or more statistics versions
  
  Select the statistics versions that you want to display from the list on the History tab page.
  
  You can use the Select All and Deselect All icons in the application toolbar.
- Selecting a reference statistics version
  
  You can compare one or more statistics versions with a reference statistics version as follows:
  
  In the Reference Stat. No: field, enter the run number of the reference statistics version with which you want compare other statistics versions.
  
  Then select the statistics versions with which you want to compare the reference statistics from the list on the History tab page.
  
  You can use the Select All and Deselect All icons in the application toolbar.
To display the statistics history, choose Display.
To download statistics data, choose the Download icon or Statistics Download .

Caution
When downloading statistics from the system, make sure you have maintained the same decimal notation in your user profile (transaction SU3) as on your operating system.

Updating the Statistics

On the History tab page, you can update the statistics as follows:

To update the statistics for the target language you selected earlier, choose Update (Current Language).

To update the statistics for all target languages, choose Update (All Languages).

To update the statistics for specific languages, choose Update (Selected Languages).
Enter a description for your statistics run in the Write Statistics dialog box.
Schedule your statistics to run ín the background.

The system schedules a background job called STATISTIC_<USER NAME>_<Target language> (for example, STATISTIC_<SMITHJ>_<enUS>).

You can use the Refresh Display icon to check the status of your statistics job. You can also monitor the status of your statistics job in transaction SM37.

When your statistics job is finished, the system displays it at the top of the list on the History tab page. Your description is displayed in the Description column.

Deleting Statistics Versions

You can delete older versions of the statistics for specific target languages as follows:

Select the statistics run that you want to delete from the list on the History tab page.
Choose Delete.
Confirm the Delete Worklist Statistics dialog box.
