You use standard safety stock planning in SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) Replenishment Planning to build up safety stock for location products according to values that match past experience.

Prerequisites

You have defined the specific master data for standard safety stock planning in addition to the basic master data for replenishment planning. For more information see Master Data Setup for Safety Stock Planning.

Features

The following is a list of the options available for standard safety stock planning:

  • SB – Safety stock from location product master: The system determines the safety stock during replenishment planning from the location product master data.

  • SZ – Safety days’ supply from location product master: The system calculates the safety stock during the safety stock planning run using the safety days’ supply you specified in the location product master data.

  • SM – Safety stock method SM considers safety stocks derived using safety stock methods SZ and SB. The method considers the maximum of these two as safety stock.

Activities

If you choose one of the safety stock methods, you do not have to execute a safety stock planning run separately. Just execute the replenishment planning run, safety stock is taken from the method you have selected.
