Process documentationMaster Data Setup for Safety Stock Planning

 

The following documentation describes which specific master data you have to define for safety stock planning within the replenishment planning process of the SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC).

Process

  1. Determine whether you want to use standard or extended safety stock planning.

  2. If you use standard safety stock planning, enter the relevant data in the following fields on the Lot Size tab page in the location product master:

    • Safety Stock Method- Method SB, SZ, or SM

    • Safety Stock- is considered by the system if you choose safety stock method SB

    • Safety Days' Supply - is considered by the system if you choose safety stock method SZ

    • The system considers the maximum safety stocks derived from Safety Stock and Safety Days' Supply if you choose safety stock method SM.

  3. If you use extended safety stock planning, enter the relevant data in the following fields on the Lot Size tab page in the location product master:

    • Safety Stock Method- Methods AT, AS, BT or BS.

    • Service Level (%)

    • Target Days' Supply - During safety stock methods AT and BT the system interprets this value as an order cycle. During safety stock method BS the system uses this value to calculate the purchase order quantity.
