Locking Individual Objects for TranslationLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You have defined the object list correctly and have made the correct settings for translation in LXE_MASTER.

Context

It is possible to lock individual objects for translation to prevent them from appearing in worklists in the future.

Caution

We recommend that you keep the list of locked objects in table LXE_LEXPT as small as possible as it can have an impact on the performance of the evaluation run. This table is intended only for fine-tuning worklists and does not replace the main filters that are the object list itself or the translation settings in LXE_MASTER.

Procedure

  1. Call transaction SE16.
  2. In the field Table Name, enter LXE_LEXPT and then choose Create Entries Create Entries or press F5.
  3. Enter 999999 for the translation area in the field CUSTMNR.
  4. In the field OBJTYPE enter the type of object that you want to exclude from the worklist, for example, FORM.
  5. In the OBJNAME field, enter the exact technical name of the object as displayed in the technical information in the translation environment. It is also possible to make generic entries here using * (asterisk).
    Note

Ensure that you include all blanks as shown in the exact technical name and that you include the three dashes to lock client-specific objects in all clients. To lock client-specific objects for an individual client, replace the dashes with the client name in the object name.

  6. If you leave the field EXPT LANG empty, then the object will be locked for every language and removed from all translation worklists. You can enter a language ID here for an exception language, that is, a specific language for which the individual object is not locked. You have to repeat this process for every exception language.
  7. Enter your user name in the field CH NAME followed by the date and time when you locked this object in the fields CH DATE and CH TIME.
  8. Enter the reason for locking the object in the field NOTE.
  9. Press Save Save to save your entries in the table.
  10. After making your entry in table LXE_LEXPT, make sure you select the Replace Existing Worklist checkbox when you start the next evaluation so that the locked object is removed from the worklist and statistics.

Results

You have entered an individual object in table LXE_LEXPT and it is now locked for translation. To view your table entry, enter LXE_LEXPT in the Table Name field of transaction SE16 and press enter. On the selection screen that appears, press F8. The Data Browser: Table LXE_LEXPT screen appears displaying all entries in the table.

You can view the objects that are locked for translation quickly and easily from transaction LXE_MASTER by choosing the tab page Overviews Overviews and then Object Exceptions Object Exceptions.
