Locking CollectionsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

If you want to exclude entire collections from the translation workflow, to ensure that objects in these collections do not arrive in translators' statistics and worklists, then you need to lock them. You can lock collections for translation into all languages, or you can lock collections in such a way that they are translated into some languages but not others.

Activities

There are two ways to lock a collection for translation into all languages:

  • The easiest way to lock a collection for all target languages is to make sure that it is not assigned to a translation graph.

  • However, if you want a clear overview of which collections have been locked for all target languages, you must create a lock graph. A lock graph contains no original, source, or target language entries at all. You assign all collections that you want to exclude from the translation workflow to this lock graph.

SAP recommends that you use a lock graph to exclude collections completely from the translation workflow.

If a collection must be translated into some target languages in your system, but is not relevant for translation into other target languages, you need to create an active translation graph for the required language directions and then assign the collection to this graph. The collection is then locked for translation into the target languages that are not maintained in this graph.
