Adding Related Objects to a WorklistLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

Related objects are objects with a technical reference to another object, such as all of the Screen Painter, interface, and report texts for the program SAPLABC, or the long texts that explain the function of data element XYZ. You can add related objects to your worklist. This is useful in the following situations:
  • The translation of related objects has top priority, such as when the translations are needed for demonstration purposes.

  • You want to check and, if necessary, improve the consistency of translations that are displayed together on the same screen.

Procedure

  1. See Calling Up a Worklist linked below and maintain the worklist parameters as described in the procedure.
  2. Select the Add Related Objects checkbox.
  3. Choose Reserve Objects.
For example, you could maintain the parameters as follows:
    Parameter Value
    Source language deDE
    Target language enUS
    Worklist number 0001
Collections All collections assigned to you for translation into enUS
    Domains All domains
Object types RPT1 Text Elements (FUGR) only
    Object name LXE_SE63_X
    Number per object type 25
Status of objects New, modified, and translated
    Add related objects Yes
Providing that translation object RPT1 LXE_SE63_X is included in worklist 0001, and providing that it belongs to a collection that is assigned to you for translation, choosing Reserve Objects creates a worklist that contains the following translation objects:
    • RPT1 LXE_SE63_X
    • Objects that are related to RPT1 LXE_SE63_X such as:
      Object Value
      SRT1 LXE_SE63_X 2100
      SRT1 LXE_SE63_X 5151
      SRT1 LXE_SE63_X 5160
      CA1 LXE_SE63_X

Results

The system adds related objects to your worklist, providing that they have been defined for translation into your target language, they belong to collections that are assigned to you for translation, and they are not reserved already in another translator's worklist.
