Before calling up a worklist, you can maintain the worklist settings to suit the way you work. The settings enable you to determine how objects are displayed in your worklist, and how you call up and translate objects in the worklist.
Worklist Settings
To determine your worklist settings, access the initial screen of transaction SE63 and choose . The standard settings are our recommended settings.
The settings in the Display group box enable you to determine how objects are displayed in your worklist:
WL Initially Sorted By
This setting enables you to determine how objects are sorted in your worklist when you call it up. The default setting is Collection, Object Name, Object Type.
The structure of a worklist that is sorted by collections, and the structure of a worklist that is sorted by object groups, are explained in the document Worklists in the section "Structure of a Worklist".
Display Collection Description (Else Collection Name)
This setting is only relevant if you sort your worklist by collections. You can decide whether the system displays the description of the collection, or the name of the collection, as the title of the collection node. This checkbox is selected in the standard setting.
For example, you call up a worklist for collection ZMDA, for which it is possible to display the short description Master Data on the Properties tab in transaction SE80. If you select the Display Collection Description (Else Collection Name) checkbox, then Master Data is displayed in the worklist as the title of the collection node for collection ZMDA. If you do not select the checkbox, ZMDA is displayed instead.
Display Object Description (Else Object Name)
If you select this checkbox, the system displays the technical name of each object together with the name of the collection (i.e. ABAP package) to which it belongs. If you do not select this checkbox, the system only displays the technical name of each object.
For example, data element ZDMER belongs to collection ZMDA. If you select the Display Object Description (Else Object Name) checkbox, data element ZDMER / ZMDA is displayed in the worklist structure. If you do not select the checkbox, ZDMER is displayed instead.
Immediately Expand Object Types with Single Object
This setting enables you to determine that object type nodes are expanded automatically if they only have one object assigned to them. This checkbox is selected in the standard setting.
The settings in the Workflow group box enable you to determine how you call up objects in your worklist.
Sequentially Process Objects with Status: New
Select this checkbox to use sequential processing for objects that contain at least one unit with the translation status new.
For more information on using sequential processing, see Translating Objects Via a Worklist.
For more information on the translation status of objects in your worklist, see Translation Status.
If you do not select this checkbox, the system skips new objects during sequential processing. You can still access these objects for translation by double-clicking them in your worklist.
This checkbox is selected in the standard setting.
Sequentially Process Objects with Status: Modified
Select this checkbox to use sequential processing for objects that contain at least one unit with the translation status modified.
If you do not select this checkbox, the system skips modified objects during sequential processing. You can still access these objects for translation by double-clicking them in your worklist.
This checkbox is selected in the standard setting.
Sequentially Process Objects with Status: Translated
Select this checkbox to use sequential processing for objects that are already 100% translated.
If you do not select this checkbox, the system skips translated objects during sequential processing. You can still access these objects for translation by double-clicking them in your worklist.
This checkbox is not selected in the standard setting.
Maximum No. Objects per Object Type
This setting enables you to determine the maximum number of objects per object type that the system reserves for translation in your worklist. The standard value is 25. You can increase the value to a maximum of 99.
Worklist Number
The worklist number is used to keep different translation projects separate from each other in the same system. If there is more than one translation project in the system in which you translate, ask your translation coordinator for the correct worklist number. The default setting is 0001.
In addition to the worklist settings, you can also enter settings for the language direction so that you do not have to maintain these values every time you call up a worklist. For more information, see Transaction SE63 and refer to the section "Defining Your Translator Settings".
