Copying Proposals Between SystemsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You have created a worklist in your translation system and there are lots of modified short text lines in the statistics because target language texts exist for which there are no proposals. However, the missing proposals are available in another system. You now want to transport just those proposals from one system to another that would change the status of the modified lines to Translated using the Proposal Pool Transport report ( RS_TRANSLATION_REMOTE_COPY_PPB).

Prerequisites

  • You have created a worklist in the system.

  • You have called transaction SM59 and created an RFC connection from the target system to the source system that you want to copy from.

Procedure

To use the Proposal Pool Transport report to transport just those proposals from one system to another that give Translated status to modified short text lines in an object list, proceed as follows:

  1. In transaction LXE_MASTER, choose Start of the navigation path Transport Next navigation step Proposal Pool Next navigation step Remote Import End of the navigation path. The Proposal Pool Transport screen appears.

  2. In the Source Language field, enter the source language of the proposals you want to transport.

  3. In the Target Language field, enter the target language of the proposals you want to transport.

  4. In the RFC Destination field, enter the RFC destination for the system that contains the proposals you want to transport.

  5. In the Object List field, use the input help to select the object list that was used to create the worklist that contains the modified lines.

  6. If you want to transport best proposals in addition to the proposals that give translated status to the modified lines in the worklist, select the Add Best Proposal field.

  7. If you only want to transport proposals for object types that are defined for translation into the target language, select the Check Language Definition field.

  8. If you want to prevent the transport from overwriting proposals, select the Do Not Overwrite field.

  9. Do not enter anything in the Mapping Definition field.

  10. Enter a suitable description for the transport in the Comment field.

    To display this comment after the transport, call transaction SE16 and display the contents of table LXE_PP_IMP.

  11. Execute the report in the background.

    After the job has finished, you can display the spool in transaction SM37 to see how many proposals were transported.

Result

You have transported proposals using an RFC connection from the source system specified in the RFC Destination field to your target translation system.

The short text lines that used to have status modified now have status translated.
