Further Information |
Define JCo destination (BI Integrated Planning) |
To be able to use the planning modeler from BI Integrated Planning as a Web-based application that is installed on the SAP J2EE Engine, the system automatically creates, with the help of the template installer, the following JCo destinations in the Web Dynpro Content Administrator of the SAP J2EE Engine: ● BI_MODELDATA ● BI_METADATA ● WD_ALV_MODELDATA_DEST ● WD_ALV_METADATA_DEST The BI_METADATA and WD_ALV_METADATA_DEST JCo destinations have the connection type Dictionary Meta Data; BI_MODELDATA and WD_ALV_MODELDATA_DEST have the connection type Application Data. For more information, see SAP Reference IMG → SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → SAP NetWeaver → Business Intelligence → BI Integrated Planning → Define JCo Destinations. |
Configure JVM settings (BI Integrated Planning) |
Configure all systems (including the portal) with the settings for the Java Virtual Machine recommended in SAP Note 723909. |
Assign portal roles (BI Integrated Planning) |
For users to be able to call the tools for business planning as an iView in the portal, you must assign them the portal role com.sap.ip.bi.business_planning_showcase in the Portal Content Directory (PCD). For more
information, see

Settings for starting the planning modeler from transaction RSPLAN (BI Integrated Planning) |
Specify which J2EE installation is to be used to start the Planning Modeler or the Planning Wizard from transaction RSPLAN. You can choose from: ● Portal J2EE server that is also used as the BEx Web server (default setting) ● Add-In J2EE installation ● J2EE installation that is defined using an arbitrary URL. If you choose this option, you have to specify a URL prefix using the format <protocol>://<host>:<port>. For more information, see SAP Reference IMG → SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → SAP NetWeaver → Business Intelligence → BI Integrated Planning → Settings for Starting the Planning Modeler. |
Settings for lock management |
The common lock management of BI Integrated Planning and BW-BPS ensures that transaction data within a planning application is protected against changes by other users. You can make your own settings for storing these locks. They are described using selection tables. For more information, see SAP Reference IMG → SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → SAP NetWeaver → Business Intelligence → BI Integrated Planning → Settings for Lock Management (or transaction RSPLSE). |
Release function modules for formulas |
This activity allows you to specify which function modules can be called from the formula editor for planning. For more information, see SAP Reference IMG → SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → SAP NetWeaver → Business Intelligence → BI Integrated Planning → Release of Function Modules for Formulas. |
Activate Web services (BW-BPS) |

User maintenance and distribution by e-mail (BW-BPS) |
To use the automatic e-mail notification system of status management for BW-BPS, you have to maintain the e-mail address in the user data of the people to be notified. For more
information about User Maintenance (transaction SU01), see
|
Authorization maintenance |
In the User

of BW BPS, these are authorizations for technical administrators, owners and
planning coordinators (see
