The status of the hosts on which its instances run, and the database, are of fundamental significance for the performance and availability of a system. The following four IT performance reports give you a quick overview of the development of the most important of these measures through time:

  • CPU load

The report shows the mean CPU load of the hosts in which instances of the monitored systems run, graphically. The value is the general CPU load of the host, not the CPU load of a particular instance. These performance values are described in the alert monitor under Operating System Monitor.

  • File system load

The report displays load of all file systems in these hosts, in a table, the percentage load and the free disk space in megabytes are also shown. The load of the 10 file systems with the highest percentage load, is also output as a diagram. You can filter by systems, instances and file systems. These performance values are described in the alert monitor under File Systems Monitor.

  • Memory usage

The report shows the mean percentage memory usage of the hosts in which instances of the monitored systems run, graphically. The free main memory in megabytes in these hosts is also displayed, as a table. The page out and page in rate in kilobytes per second is also displayed. You can restrict the display to just one of them. Main memory usage and paging, together indicate whether the main memory size is adequate for the host load. For further information about these values, see Operating System Monitor.

  • Database load

The report shows the size and growth of the databases of the selected systems, in megabytes. See SAP note 1068204.

Note Note

The data about server and database loads comes from the CCMS monitoring infrastructure. The reports show values of the following MTE classes:

Report

MTE class

Meaning

CPU load

CPU utilization

mean use of CPUs in a host. The value shows how intensively the CPU is used, and how much capacity the processor still has

File system load

File system percentage used

Percentage load of the available file system memory, in percent

File system free space

Fee disk space in the file system

Memory usage

Free memory

Free main memory in megabytes

Memory configured

Used main memory in megabytes

Page in

Miean page in rate, in kilobytes per second

Page out

Miean page out rate, in kilobytes per second

Database load

DB_KPI_dbsize_pfcl

Database size in megabytes

DB_KPI_dailygrowth_pfcl

Daily increase in amout of DB memory used, in megabytes

End of the note.
