Create Transport Requests in the Component Systems 

Use

You create customizing and workbench transport requests in the component systems, from the SAP Solution Manager system, and assign tasks to project team members in them. This is the prerequisite for you or project team members to activate BC Sets, run CATTs, import Add-On transport requests and edit customizing, in the implementation guide (IMG), in the Configuration transaction.

Existing transport requests are a prerequisite for the Customizing Distribution. All project team members whose customizing changes are to be distributed, must have a task in the transport requests.

Prerequisites

You have created a project in the Project Administration, defined a system landscape for it, and saved. You are in edit mode for this project.

You have the authorization S_CTS_ADMI for all component systems in which you want to create transport requests.

Procedure

       1.      Go to the System Landscape tab.

       2.      Choose the IMG Projects subtab.

       3.      Click on the title of the IMG project for a component system, for example an SAP SCM.

If there is not yet a project IMG in the component system, the system tells you in a dialog box that a transport request has been created under your user name in the component system. Proceed as follows:

                            a.      Create tasks for your project team members in this transport request.

                            b.      Choose Continue.

You go to the Project Administration in the component system. Continue from step 4.

If there is already a project IMG in the component system, you go to the component system project administration.

       4.      Switch to editing mode.

       5.      Select the Transport Requests tab.

If the CTS functionality has not yet been activated, the system shows the pushbutton Activate CTS Functionality in the tab.

       6.      Choose the Activate CTS Functionality pushbutton, if it is shown.

       7.      Choose the Assigned CTS Requests pushbutton.

       8.      Create a customizing and workbench request, if there are no appropriate existing ones.

       9.      Create tasks in the requests for all required team members.

   10.      Save your entries and go back.

   11.      Repeat the procedure for all other systems in the IMG Projects tab.

Result

The transport request created is automatically offered to all project team members with tasks in the CTS requests, when they activate BC Sets, run CATTs, import Add-On transport requests, and change customizing in the component systems.
