Purpose

Using the Configuring the System Landscape IT process, you can both manage your integration projects and define the monitoring for your application systems in SAP Solution Manager. You can also configure the relevant applications in your application systems and model products, software components, technical systems, and business systems in the SAP System Landscape Directory.

Prerequisites

To use this process, you require SAP Solution Manager and the SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD), in addition to your application components. The SLD is part of the usage type AS Java.

Process Flow

The process runs as follows:

       1.      Manage integration project (SAP Solution Manager)

You manage your integration project in SAP Solution Manager.

       2.      Define monitors (SAP Solution Manager)

You define the monitoring of the application components belonging to your integration project in SAP Solution Manager.

       3.      Configure application components (external systems)

You configure the non-SAP application components belonging to your integration project.

       4.      Configure application components (AS)

You configure the SAP application components belonging to your integration project.

       5.      Model products and software components (AS)

You model the relevant products and software components in the SLD.

       6.      Model technical systems and business systems (AS)

You model the corresponding technical systems and business systems in the SLD.

Result

You have configured you application components and defined your system monitoring. You have connected your application systems to the Integration Server, and have modeled your products, software components, technical systems, and business systems.
