Monitoring Quick Guide
The monitoring quick
guide provides a description of the data registered for monitoring by the SAP
J2EE Engine components. The data is displayed in the Monitor Browser of
Java System
Reports or in the
CCMS status
monitors.

The guide contains detailed information only for important monitors that are activated by default.
For a list of all
such monitors, see
Active
Monitors
The following monitoring groups contain important monitors that are activated by default:
● EJB
● Memory
● Security
The data for each monitor is displayed in a table containing the following rows:
● Description
Provides a description of the monitor and its functions.
● Description of possible problems and their impact
Provides information about possible causes for a change in a monitor’s traffic light.
There are monitors which are only static and do not indicate a real problem.
● Thresholds
Provides a recommendation of suitable thresholds you can set to get a meaningful output from a monitor’s traffic light.
Some monitors are only static and do not indicate a real problem. Therefore, the setting of thresholds is unimportant.
The critical values at which a monitor changes its traffic light are denoted as follows:
GY |
Green to Yellow |
YR |
Yellow to Red |
RY |
Red to Yellow |
YG |
Yellow to Green |
● Recommended procedure if a problem occurs
Contains a recommendation of concrete steps that you can follow to fix a problem if a monitor’s light is red.
For more
information about activating and deactivating a monitor or setting thresholds,
see the
Monitor
Browser.
