Use

You can display shelf life data in interactive Supply Network Planning (SNP). Shelf life information is displayed in both the standard planning table and a separate table, the shelf life view. The shelf life view displays a selection of key figures you determined in the shelf life profile.

You can use this information to change your planning so that the least possible amount of material or number of products are wasted because their shelf life data do not match those of the demand.

Shelf Life Planning Book and Key Figures

In interactive planning, the display of shelf life data is determined by the settings maintained in the shelf life planning book (9ASNP_SHLF). The shelf life planning book contains information about the shelf life attributes of orders. You can create your own planning book based on the standard shelf life planning book.

The system uses macros to calculate the following key figures that contain shelf life information:

      Expiring Quantity

Displays the total quantity of stock or receipt elements in a bucket that are no longer usable from this bucket on.

      Projected Wastage Quantity

Displays the portion of the quantity displayed in key figure Expiration Quantity that needs to be discarded in the current demand situation.

      Stock on Hand (Shelf Life)

Displays the total quantity of stock or receipt elements in a bucket that have not been consumed by demand up to, and including this bucket. Consumption follows the shelf life logic that stock or receipt elements must meet the shelf life requirements of demand.

      Supply Shortage (Shelf Life)

Displays the total quantity of demand elements in a bucket that have not consumed stock or receipt elements up to, and including this bucket. Consumption follows the shelf life logic that stock or receipt elements must meet the shelf life requirements of demand.

The system uses macros to calculate the values of the shelf life key figures described above.

Alert Macros

The following alert macros that use shelf life data are available:

      Projected Wastage Quantity (DB Alert)

      Projected Wastage Quantity (Dynamic Alert)

Supply Shortage Shelf Life (DB Alert)

Supply Shortage Shelf Life (Dynamic Alert)

Shelf Life View

In interactive Supply Network Planning, you can display a shelf life view which contains shelf life specific data. To display the shelf life view, click SNP Plan with the secondary mouse button and choose Shelf Life View.

You can define shelf life settings in a profile that contains information about the key figures, the shelf life information, and the time buckets profile you want the system to use. For more information, see Shelf Life Profile.

The system populates the columns of the shelf life view from the time buckets profile of the shelf life planning book. The rows of the shelf life view are populated by data from selected key figures and from the time buckets profile that you have defined in the shelf life profile.

Detailed View

To navigate to detailed view click a cell in a table of the workspace of interactive planning with the secondary mouse button and select Display Details. The detailed view displays order details of the selected cell. Depending on the key figure the cell belongs to, the displayed information relates to the demand side or receipt side of the orders.

The following shelf life data is displayed for the demand side of orders:

      Minimum Required Shelf Life Date/Time

      Maximum Required Shelf Life Date/Time

The following shelf life data is displayed for the receipt side of orders:
