Creating Product Allocation
Procedures
The product allocations procedure determines how products are allocated.
● You have created a product allocations object.
● You have created a product allocation group.

1. In Customizing for the Advanced Planner and Optimizer select Global ATP → Product Allocations → Maintain Product Allocations Procedure.
2. Choose New Entries.
3. Enter an alphanumerical key (maximum 18 places) and a name for the procedure.
4. If you set the Cumulated indicator, the product allocations method available as of Release 4.0A, which implements a check logic of the cumulated product availability, is used. If you have not set the indicator, the method available since Release 3.0F is used for product allocations (discrete product availability check).

1. Select a product allocations procedure and choose Step sequence.
2. Choose New Entries.
If you want the system to check the product allocations in two or more steps, enter the corresponding number and a step name in the Step field. Note that the step counter must not be zero.
3. Choose the desired product allocation group using the input help (F4), and assign it to the product allocations procedure.
4. Specify the combinations with which you want to use the masking indicator. You can choose the masking indicator using the input help (F4). The search for collective product allocations is thereby activated.

4. Using the input help (F4), choose the product allocations object and assign it to the procedures.
5. Specify the validity period for each object.
6. Determine which assignments should be active and set the indicator accordingly.
7. You can display the load of the product allocation quantity by the requested quantity of a sales order using the product allocations factor. For example, if the factor in a product allocations period is set to 2, and a sales order with 100 pieces is created, a product allocation quantity of 200 pieces is assigned by the sales order.
8. Save your entries.
9. Enter the product allocation procedure in the product master. You can enter location-dependent and location-independent procedures.
