Creating Product Allocation Groups
Use
You define a product allocation group for product allocation in APO and define the assignment of a product allocation group to characteristics. You can choose the following characteristic types:
rules-based ATP check)
Characteristics for additional transport
Configuration characteristics (CDP)
Prerequisites
You created a
field catalog.Procedure

If you save your entries in this step, a message appears, specifying that errors occurred when generating the internal objects. The message appears because you have still not maintained characteristics for the product allocation group, and because the product allocation object must always be the first characteristic. Choose Enter. A message appears specifying that you must check the validity of the object when changing the period type. You can ignore this message when creating the period type.
Note: The product allocation object must always be the first characteristic.

If product allocation should be carried out for the product substitution or in
location determination within a rules-based availability check, then you should have included the characteristics from the enhanced field catalog (via product allocations: search help field catalog enhancement) in the product allocation group.Example
:If product allocation should be carried out in location determination, the field RULE_WERKS should be used instead of WERKS in the product allocation group. In the case of product allocation for product substitution, you should have included the field RULE_MATNR instead of MATNR in the product allocation group; otherwise, product allocation is carried out for the requested product.
If you have set the Without past periods indicator, the product allocation quantities from past periods are not used.
