Master Data and Settings for the SNI Monitor If you want to work with the SNI Monitor, you must set up specific master data and configuration in the SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) system and on the Web user interface (Web UI) of SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC): These settings are described in the following sections.
You must create the master data for supplier collaboration in the SAP SNC system. This includes the following master data:
Business partners for customer and supplier
Internet users for customer and supplier
Customer locations and supplier locations
Following location products:
Location products at the customer location
Location products at the location of the supplier
Location products at locations of a third-party logistics provider or of a supplier whom you have mapped as an additional plant (3PL location) in your ERP system.
In the location product master of the products, enter the unit of measure for the quantity specifications in the SNI Monitor in the field
Base UoM
.
If you, as customer, use SAP Enterprise Core Component (SAP ECC) or SAP ERP as your back-end system, you can transfer the customer location products to SAP SNC by using CIF.
Note
Transportation lanes between customer and ship-from locations are not necessary.
In the SAP SNC system, you must enter the following planning parameters in the location product masters:
The minimum stock level and the maximum stock level as static (that is, non-requirement-dependent) values of stock limits
SAP SNC uses this data to calculate SNI alerts , for example.
Minimum and maximum days' supply for the dynamic (that is, requirement-dependent) calculation of the minimum and maximum stock levels
Rounding value
SAP SNC uses the rounding value to round key figures. SAP SNC only rounds key figures that you can edit in the SNI Monitor.
You enter these values in the SAP SNC system in the location product master on the
Lot Size
tab page in the following fields:
The
minimum stock level
in the
Safety Stock
field
The
maximum stock level
in the
Maximum Stock Level
field
The rounding value in the
Rounding Value
field
The minimum days' supply for the
dynamic calculation of the minimum stock level
in the
Safety Days' Supply
field.
The maximum days' supply for the
dynamic calculation of the maximum stock level
in the
Target Days' Supply
field.
You can also edit the SNI planning parameters on the SAP SNC Web UI, for example, under . You must maintain location product settings on the Web UI in the following cases:
Dynamic calculation of the minimum and maximum stock levels from the minimum and maximum days' supply
You must set the
Use Days' Supply
indicator on the Web UI.
Multisourcing of subcontracting components
A supplier can receive subcontracting components from different customers. In this case, customer-specific planning parameters may be required.
Scenario Control
You can use scenario control to define which locations products the SNI Monitor displays and which SNI alerts the system generates.
For more information, see Partner-Dependent Location Product Settings .
You can control visibility of location products in the SNI Monitor. For more information, see Visibility Concept in the SNI Monitor . For more information about the required settings, see Profile-Based and Parameter-Based Visibility in the SNI Monitor
In order for the alert monitor to display SNI alerts , you must set the selection mode for the alert monitor to MD.
The system
calculates the projected stock
of a location product according to the Customizing settings for
Supply Network Collaboration
under
Supply Network Inventory
. Check the default settings and make your own settings if required.
You set the visible time period and the period division in the SNI Monitor, on the Web UI of SAP SNC under .
You do not need to make any settings here. For more information about the key figures and time series data types, see Key Figures in the SNI Monitor . For test purposes, you can use the report /SCA/TSDMTEST to create demand data, stock data, and access data (time series) for the SNI Monitor.
If a user only wants to display data in the SNI Monitor, create user-specific and business partner-specific selections in Selection Management .
XML messages of the
ProductActivityNotification
type are used to transfer the data for the SNI to SAP SNC. For
ProductActivityNotifications
, you must set the
Supplier Collaboration
process type in Customizing for
Supply Network Collaboration
. You make these settings under
. For more information about Supply Network Inventory with SAP ERP as the back-end system, see the configuration documentation in SAP Solution Manager under
.
If you only want to call the SNI Monitor when an alert occurs, set up alert notification .
