Function documentationProfile-Based and Parameter-Based Visibility in the SNI Monitor

Data for a location product is only visible to a user on the Web user interface for SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) if the user has authorization to display or change the location product. You can use the profile-based and parameter-based visibility concept to additionally filter master data and movement data in the SNI Monitor. You filter the data by creating profiles for users or business partners. In the profiles, you define which data a business partner is allowed to display.

This allows you, for example, to grant the following business partners access only to selected data in SAP SNC:

  • Vendor

  • Suppliers of a supplier

  • Third party logistics provider

Features

Selection Modes for Profile-Based and Parameter-Based Visibility

You can make settings to filter the data with selection modes, in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration, by choosing Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Visibility End of the navigation path. To do this, you use selection modes. A selection mode controls which data a user of a business partner is able to see. For the profile-based and parameter-based visibility, the following selection modes for SNI are delivered:

  • Time Series and Inventory (Profile-Based) (TSDM_INV_C)

With this selection mode, the user can only see inventory data and key figures for the location products that are defined in his or her visibility profiles.

  • Time Series (Profile-Based) (TSDM_C)

  • Inventory (Profile-Based) (INV_C)

For more information, see Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration under Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Visibility Next navigation step Create Selection Modes End of the navigation path.

Definition and Assignment of Visibility Control Profiles

You can use the Maintain and Assign Visibility Control Profiles transaction to create visibility control profiles and assign users and business partners. For more information, see Creation and Assignment of Visibility Control Profiles.

Example

The following example describes the technical process of how you control visibility in the SNI Monitor using a profile-based and parameter-based visibility concept:

  1. User AB of business partner ABC calls the SNI Monitor.

  2. The system searches the application data ID of the corresponding screen. In this example, the application data ID is SNI.

  3. The system reads the visibility settings for application SNI in Customizing.

The system finds the Time Series and Inventory (Profile-Based) selection mode (TSDM_INV_C). The selection mode is assigned to a profile-based selection rule type in Customizing for visibility.

  4. The system searches for the profiles that are assigned to user AB, business partner ABC, and application ID SNI.

  5. The system finds a matching profile. In this profile, product A and location X are predefined as filter criteria.

  6. Result: The user AB only sees inventory data and key figures for product A and location X.
