Copy Identified Changes from Source into Target
This function copies changes to structures and structure elements which you have, for example, copied into your Solution Manager project from a template or the Business Process Repository (BPR), into your Solution Manager project.
You have performed the function Compare and Adjust (transaction SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE), to compare changes in templates with your project
You have set the comparison mode flag under , so that the status icons are displayed in front of the structure elements and in the tabs, as the result of the comparison in the transactions SOLAR01 and SOLAR02.
You have selected Adjust to Original in the tabs which show change icons, in transaction SOLAR01 or SOLAR02.
List of entries in the current tab in your Solution Manager project.
List of entries of new version of source node, with status.
Copy all or selected changes and deletions from the source, into your project in Show Changes to Original mode.
Recommendation
To replace an entire substructure, e.g. an entire scenario, in your project, with the substructure which has changed its source, e.g. a template:
Delete the substructure from your project.
To compare with a template, perform the Compare and Adjust function first. Choose Compare with Original in the Structure tab of the level above the deleted structure.
The system shows the deletion in the right-hand side of the Compare and Adjust dialog box.
Copy the new entry into your project.
The system shows the additional pushbutton Complete, in the Compare and Adjust dialog box, for all structure elements and tabs whose source has changed. You can hide the yellow change icon with Complete, whether or not you have copied the changes into your project. This documents that you are satisfied with the current status and no longer want to be told about the currently-displayed changes to the original, because you have either copied or consciously ignored them.
Note
Before you can hide the yellow icon in front of a structure element in the project hierarchy display, there must be no other yellow icon shown for this structure element in any tabs in the transactions SOLAR01 and SOLAR02. You can hide user settings tabs, and not all tabs are shown in SOLAR01.
Note
If the structure node has not yet been set to Complete, the left-hand side of the dialog box Compare and Adjust may show differences for tabs which have already been set to Complete. If the transaction SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE runs at this time, the tabs show a yellow icon again.
The pushbutton Compare and Adjust becomes active when a structure node is copied from another structure node in the same Solution Manager system.
For comparisons with templates, you must first choose the transaction SA_PROJECT_UPGRADE and then Adjust to Original, in a tab.
You want to compare elements in a template with your project. To monitor the changes in your project, copy only one change at a time:
In the dialog box Compare and Adjust, you copy a new BC Set from the template in the Configuration tab, into your project. You activate the BC Set in your project because it contains important changes.
You copy a new IMG activity from the template into your project. You check it in the IMG. Delete it from the Configuration tab because it is not relevant for your process. Choose Complete in the Compare and Adjust dialog box in the Configuration tab, to indicate that no further comparison is required.
Repeat these steps until you have checked all new data.
