Use

This procedure enables you to connect the Visual Administrator tool to the J2EE Engine using either a new connection entry or an already configured one.

Procedure

       1.      Start the Visual Administrator tool. If the connection dialog does not appear, then choose Connect Login from the menu path.

       2.      To connect to the Visual Administrator, do the following:

Java system

                            a.      Select the default login from the list of connections.

                            b.      Enter the password for Administrator user.

                            c.      Choose Connect.

In addition, you can create a new connection entry or edit an existing one.

You cannot use the Default login. Instead, perform the following steps:

                            a.      Choose New.

                            b.      Enter a display name and choose Direct connection to dispatcher node and choose Next.

                            c.      Enter the following:

                                                  i.       User name – J2EE_ADMIN

                                                ii.       Host – the host name of the J2EE Engine

                                               iii.       Port – the P4 port

The following convention applies for the port: 5<Instance_Number_of_SAP_J2EE_Engine>04. For example, if your J2EE instance number is 15, the P4port is 51504.

                            d.      Choose Save and select your new login account

                            e.      Choose Connect.

 

Result

You can now use the Visual Administrator functions according to the restrictions that are applied to the user identity you used to log on.
