Visible Master and Transaction Data
Data for a location product is only visible to a user on the Web user interface for SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) if the user has authorization to display or change the location product. The user can therefore only display transaction data for a location product in an application (for example, the inventory situation in the SMI Monitor), or the product or location name in the input help for products and locations if he or she has the appropriate authorization.
In SAP SNC, there are also additional filters, known as selection modes. A selection mode controls which data a user of a business partner is able to see in an application. A default selection mode is assigned in Customizing to each SAP SNC application. For some applications, alternative selection modes are available.
Each selection mode is assigned to one of the following visibility concepts.
User-partner-based visibility concept
This visibility concept restricts the visibility of a user of a business partner in an SAP SNC application to the master data and transaction data that is relevant and allowed for the business partner based on his or her role in the supply chain. This is important, for example, if a customer has links to several suppliers but the suppliers themselves should not see the data of the other suppliers.
Profile-based and parameter-based visibility concept
This is a special visibility concept for the SNI Monitor; it is based on visibility control profiles that you can assign to each user or business partner. For more information, see Profile-Based and Parameter-Based Visibility in the SNI Monitor.
The following selection modes are available:
Partner-Dependent Network Filter (PDNF)
To determine the visible data, this filter evaluates business partners, locations, and transportation lanes. For more information, see Partner-Dependent
Network Filter. You can use the selection modes PDNF
and PDNF_NEW
for the partner-dependent network filter.
Recommendation
We recommend that you use the selection mode PDNF_NEW
.
The following applications use PDNF_NEW
in the standard system:
Alert Monitor
Order Forecast Monitor
SMI Monitor
Min/Max Replenishment Monitor
Responsive Replenishment Monitor
Purchase orders in the SMI scenario
ASNs in the SMI scenario
Delivery Control Monitor (Supplier)
Packaging
Collaborative sales forecasting
Note that other monitors for forecasts and promotions (in the Web menu for SAP SNC under Demand
) use the selection mode PDNF
. For additional applications that use PDNF_NEW
,
see Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
under .
Selection Modes Based on Order Documents (ODM_xxx)
There are selection modes available for the various applications for processing order documents (such as purchase orders and scheduling agreement releases) that determine the visible documents and data as follows:
A user of a supplier can see documents in the supplier view in which this supplier is entered as the supplier.
A user of a customer can see documents in the customer view in which this customer is entered as the customer.
A user of a goods recipient can see documents in the goods recipient view in which this goods recipient is entered as the goods recipient.
The location and product names of the location products from these documents are available in the input help (provided that the user authorization allows these locations and products to be displayed). If purchase orders and scheduling agreement releases already exist in the system, locations or products are available in the input help for ASN processing. If the user of a supplier nevertheless wants to create an ASN without a purchasing document, he or she must enter the ship-from location of the supplier and the product manually.
Purchase order collaboration, release processing, and ASN processing use these selection modes in the standard system.
Master Data (MD)
With this selection mode, the user sees data for location products for which he or she has authorization. The locations and products of these location products are available in the input help.
For more information, see Profile-Based and Parameter-Based Visibility in the SNI Monitor.
In the standard system, one selection mode is defined per application data ID. In the standard system, the applications use the selection modes described above. For some applications, alternative selection modes are available. You can change the assignment of application data IDs to selection
modes. You can also assign application data IDs to selection modes on business partner or user level. For more information, see Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
under .
You can also create user-defined selection modes in Customizing for Visibility
, and program the selection logic using the BAdI /SCF/BADI_SELECTION. You can also use the BAdI to modify the selection logic for existing selection modes.
