This Launchpad group is the central access point for all the information and functions you need to run SAP Solution Manager.
It is divided into different tiles, in which you set up and manage solutions, projects and systems, and can perform user functions and common administration tasks.
The group consists of the following tiles displayed by default:

| The SAP Solution Manager Landscape Management Database (LMDB) is the central landscape information repository. A system landscape description is the basis for almost all SAP Solution Manager applications. | In this tile, you can predefine search variants for different applications in SAP Solution Manager. The search variants that you define here can be globally used by all users, they are no personal search variants. For more information, see Technical System Search Variants - Maintenance. |
| A technical scenario is a group of technical systems that work together technically. Information about technical scenarios is saved in the landscape management database (LMDB). In this tile, you can view, edit, and create technical scenarios. For more information, see Managing Technical Scenarios. |
| You can configure user-specific settings, for example, system user, business partner, and role. For more information, see User Administration. |
| In this tile, you can manage diagnostics agents installed in all managed systems, centrally. For more information, see Agent Framework (or Agent Administration for more detailed functions). |
| In this tile, you can start the agent administration via selecting a system. For more information about the two options accessing the agent administration, see Starting the Agent Administration. |
| The Extractor Framework (EFWK) is the central infrastructure for SAP Solution Manager for data collection and distribution. In this tile, you can monitor the status of the extractors, identify the causes of errors, and resolve problems. For more information, see Extractor Framework. |
| The Alerting Framework is part of the Extractor Framework which supplies data to the E2E Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure (MAI). In this tile, you can monitor and manage the MAI extractors. MAI uses a special set of extractors and providers, the Data Provider Connector (DPC). For more information, see Alerting Framework. | The configuration and change database (CCDB) stores the configuration data of the systems connected to SAP Solution Manager, allowing you to trace configuration changes. In this tile, you can access CCDB administration. For more information, see Configuration and Change Database (CCDB). |
| The Enterprise Manager (EM) acts as the central repository for all Introscope performance data and metrics collected in an application environment. In this tile, you can configure or monitor your Enterprise Managers. For more information, see Introscope. |
| Rapid Content Delivery allows you to import the latest content updates for various SAP Solution Manager functions, such as, Monitoring and Alerting, Guided Procedure, and Customer Usage Provisioning. Content updates are available in the form of Support Packages (content package) in SAP Service Marketplace. In this tile, you can configure rapid content delivery to download content packages. | BW-based reporting provides you with a large number of scenarios in SAP Solution Manager, in which reporting data is collected across systems in SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (BW). In this tile, you can obtain information about the status of the connections between the SAP Solution Manager system and the associated BW; you can also see the current status of BW-based reporting, broken down by the different scenarios. To add the tiles to the home page, proceed as follows:
Choose the button Personalize Home Page
.
Add a new tile in the group SAP Solution Manager Administration
by choosing the "+" button. The Tile Catalog
is displayed.
Navigate to the group SAP Solution Manager Administration
, and for the corresponding tile, choose the button Add tile to group
.
Leave the tile catalog by choosing the button Back
, and choose the button Exit Action Mode
