Procedure documentationCreating iViews Based on Remote Portal Component iViews  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

SAP NetWeaver Portal provides an iView template that enables you to create a portal component iView -- on your local portal – that points to and runs a portal component iView located on a remote portal.

Prerequisites

iViews that display remote portal iViews or pages are created using the portal application integration technology for consuming remote content. This enables the consumption of a number of application technologies. Therefore, for a complete description of prerequisites and behavioral considerations, see Creating iViews Based on Remote Portal Content

Procedure

...

       1.      Launch the relevant iView wizard. For more information, see Launching the iView Wizard.

       2.      Select iView template - Create an iView from an existing iView template and choose Next.

Step 1 of the iView wizard appears showing a list of available iView templates.

       3.      Select the SAP Portal Component iView (Based on a remote SAP Portal Component iView) template and then choose Next.

       4.      In Step 2 of the wizard, enter values for the required fields.

       5.      Step 3 of the wizard displays the available remote systems by system alias. Select the desired system.

       6.      Step 4 of the wizard displays all the locations from which you can select the iView that you want to run on your system.

You can select iViews that are unit objects (located under their respective folders) or iViews that are non-unit objects (located in roles, worksets, or pages).

If the system times out before finding your iView, or if the iView is not found, a browse window appears so that you can search for your iView manually in the remote portal content tree.

Note

Step 4 of the wizard displays only portal component iViews; therefore, if a role, workset, or page does not allow you to navigate within it, this means that the contents are created with other technologies, such as Web Dynpro.
