Creating Basic Web Dynpro
iViews from a Remote Portal
Use the procedure described in this section to create an iView that points to a remote Web Dynpro Java application and displays it on your local portal.
iViews that display remote portal components are created using the portal application integration technology for consuming remote content. This enables the consumption of a number of application technologies. Therefore, for a complete description of prerequisites and behavioral considerations, see Creating iViews Based on Remote Content.

6. In Step 2 of the wizard, enter the following values in the relevant fields and choose the Web Dynpro Client:
¡ The System dropdown list contains a list of all the system aliases available to the portal. Choose the alias that represents the required remote portal.
¡ Enter the relevant namespace.
¡ Enter the required application name.

When creating a basic Web Dynpro iView from a remote source, the namespace and application name are values you must know in advance.
¡ Select one of the following Web Dynpro clients:
■ Plain HTML
■ Windows Client
■ Java Client
¡ Enter the relevant parameters.
7. Choose Next to open the Summary page that displays the iView information that you configured.
Before choosing Finish, you can select the Open for editing when wizard completes checkbox, which allows you to edit properties of the new iView.

If the system times out before finding your iView, or if the iView is not found, a browse window appears so that you can search for your iView manually in the remote portal content tree.
