You can preview iViews and portal pages directly from the Portal Catalog without opening them first in an editor. The preview simulates what an end user would see at runtime.

The alternative method for previewing iViews and pages is to open the object in its editor and then use the preview feature available within the editor. For instructions, see Previewing an Object from an Editor (iViews and Pages).

Prerequisites

  • To preview an iView or page, you must have end user read permission for the object. See Permission Levels.

  • You must also have at least administrator read permission for objects to see them in the Portal Catalog.

Procedure

  1. Launch the Portal Content Studio. In top-level navigation, choose   Content Administration   Portal Content  .

  2. In the Portal Catalog, right-click the iView or page you want to preview. In the context menu that appears, choose Preview.

  3. Close the Preview window when you have finished.
