The Page Editor and iView Editor allow you to preview portal pages and iViews, respectively. The preview simulates what an end user would see at runtime.

You can also preview iViews and pages directly from the Portal Catalog without opening them in an editor. For more information, see Previewing an Object (iViews and Pages).

Prerequisites

  • To preview an iView or page, you must have end user read permission for the object. See Permission Levels.

Procedure

  1. Make sure the object you want to preview is the object in focus in the editing area.

    To preview a particular page or iView that is embedded in a portal page, you must first open the desired object for editing and bring it in focus in the editing area.

  2. In the Object Editor tools area, click Preview.

    The object you have selected opens in a new browser window.

  3. Close the Preview window when you have finished.
