Editing SAP System Properties
The template for an SAP system defines the specific parameters needed to connect to an SAP application, and contains a reference to the SAP connector. The SAP system inherits these properties, some with default values, others that require the setting of values. You edit the system by inserting needed property values and by modifying default values, if necessary.
SAP systems can be based on one of two templates.
One template (SAP system with load balancing) defines properties that support load balancing, making it more useful for large enterprises.
The other template (SAP system using dedicated application server) defines properties that support a dedicated system.
Each template contains many properties, not all of which can be edited, and not all of which are necessary to establish a connection to the back-end system.
The table below lists the properties needed to define connectivity to an SAP application. Each has an explanation of the value that should be set.
It is important that editing of this template be done by an SAP system administrator.
From the portal's top-level navigation bar, choose .
From Detailed Navigation, choose System Landscape.
In the Portal Catalog, right-click the system whose properties you want to edit, and from the drop-down list choose . This opens the System Landscape Editor.
Set your SAP system properties according to the details in the table below. For more information, see SAP Note 761917.
