Connecting Further Applications with the Change and Transport SystemLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use
Note This function is available only if the CTS plug-in is installed in your SAP system. We recommend that you always use the newest CTS plug-in version available for download. This documentation describes the functions available in CTS plug-in 2.0 SP14.

The enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS) supports the transport of objects of specific non-ABAP applications. The supported objects can vary from release to release. You can get an overview of the objects that can be transported with the enhanced CTS by default under Transporting Non-ABAP Objects in the Change and Transport System.

If the CTS plug-in is installed in your SAP system, you have the option to connect further non-ABAP applications (also non-SAP applications) with the CTS. This way objects from the connected applications can also be transported with the CTS. You can connect these applications with CTS for each domain.

For more information on CTS plug-in, see the links in the More Information section.

Prerequisites
  • The CTS plug-in is installed in your SAP system.
  • You want to transport objects of a non-ABAP application in the Change and Transport System which is not yet connected with CTS.
  • You have received all the necessary information from the vendor of the non-ABAP application to be able to connect the application with CTS. You need the following information:
    • Application Type

Unique ID of the application that you want to connect with the enhanced Change and Transport System.

    • Description

Short description of the application type.

    • Support Details

Information where you as a customer can get help in case of problems.

    • Deploy Method

Method with which objects of the application type are deployed in the target system.

    • Deploy URI

Unique address of the deploy target. The deploy URI is dependent on the selected deploy method. You get details about the content of the deploy URI from the vendor of the non-ABAP application.

Procedure
  1. Configure the source systems for exporting objects of the application to be connected.

This is necessary so that objects in the source systems can be exported using the Change and Transport System.

For more information, see Configuring Source Systems for Further Applications.

  2. Configure the target systems for transporting the objects of this application.

This is necessary so that the objects of the application can be imported into the target systems.

For more information, see Configuring Target Systems for Further Applications.

You have connected the application with the Change and Transport System and can now transport objects of the connected application in the Change and Transport System.
